Start: 07/2016 Gross area: 130 sqm (170sqm after)

J Foster Architects was appointed to design a basement conversion for a Grade II listed Georgian Townhouse in the Canonbury Conservation Area. The proposal includes reducing the level of the existing cellar floor level to create additional habitable space for a playroom, study and utility room, and formation of a full depth lightwell to the street.
Planning Approval and Listed Building Consent were originally granted in April 2018 for a full 40sqm basement plus a new front external lightwell and window. This has been approved again in July 2019 but for a fully underpinned structural solution.
